The Healthy City Forum

The Healthy City Forum took place on December 7, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture. This forum explored ways to build more effective and accessible mental health programs for all, including the city’s most vulnerable people, with a special emphasis on fostering racial equity in health.

The forum panel included:

Ms. Teena Adler-Roberts:  Lives in wellness, a Bachelor of Social Work student at TAMUC, and a Certified Peer Specialist who has been drug free 8 years.
Dr. Andy Keller: Psychologist and Chief Executive Officer of the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute
Mr. Joe Powell: In long term recovery with 27 years free of alcohol and other drugs; ED/CEO of APAA-Association of Persons Affected by Addiction in Dallas.
Ms. Natasha Stewart: Director of The Center for Counseling and Behavioral Health at The Potter’s House of Dallas.
Dr. Rodney Teague – moderator: Clinical psychologist at Dallas VA Medical Center. Staff liaison to Mental Health Veterans Advocacy Council.
Dr. Ella Williams: Psychiatrist in Dallas affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including JPS Health Network and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
