10:00 am-5:00 pm – Hand Picked House Music by Hand Drawn Records
10:15-10:45 am – Grupo Yaoyollohtli: Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli (Heart of the Warrior) Aztec Dance Group will open the Festival with a native blessing ceremony.
11:00 am – Dallas Street Choir: The Dallas Street Choir will kick off the opening session with a main stage performance.
12:45 – 1:30 pm – The Drummies: A dynamic drum prodigy duo, JD Beck (13yrs old) and Adrian Roberts (11yrs old), fresh off their SXSW 2017 debut, perform synergistically with special guests.
1:00-5:00 pm – Rumba: Join an organic, interactive celebration of percussion, movement and voice featuring Afro-Latin-influenced rhythms from treasured Dallas artists and soulful friends from across the globe.
Featuring Len Barnett and Bret Nance of Percussion Things. Hosted by RonAmber Deloney. Special Guests include Ricky “Bongo” Carthen, Peter Muga, Alejandro Perez, Jr., RonAmber Deloney, Rage Almighty, Eddy Chilome, Celeza Mitchell, Cathey Whiteman, and many, many more!
1:30-2:15 pm – Michelle N. Gibson (the artist) & The Kicking Brass Band!: Join in a “Second Line” led by New Orleans import and tour de force Michelle N. Gibson with enough horns and dancers to awaken Young Street to parade in sync!
2:15-2:45 pm – Hand Picked Vinyl Interactive Set: Sean Russell of Cut Throat Finches and Dustin Blocker of Hand Drawn Records join forces on an interactive acoustic and turntable set.
3:15-4:00 pm – Mayta: A blend of Latin American culture expressed in musical patterns from Peru to Mexico and Venezuela to Cuba, all the way through the heart of Texas.
Casita de los Sueños (Little Dream House), a Culture Capsule by Ash Studios. A mobile sculpture structure serving as a “Culture Capsule” focusing on a small house as a space that is more about the struggle to realize dreams, such as the attainment of the “American Dream”.
Little Love Notes by Kyle Steed. Pick your love note and pull your own screen print. Share with a stranger or take home your own piece of positivity and love at a time when the world needs more of both.
Creative Exchange Projects by Oil & Cotton, including:
Collective Weave-In. Chill out under the trees and get into the weaving zone with colorful fibers and natural objects.
Intuitive Calligraphy by Andrea Tosten. Calligraphy teacher and artist performs intuitive calligraphy, peering into your soul and scribing a word for each participant.
Not For Sale. Make a Not For Sale pricetag for your most precious feelings, friends, possessions.
Paper Flowers Community Garden by June Covington. Create a community garden of various repurposed and brightly colored tissue and crepe papers.
